2/16 "Finding Light Out of the Darkness"

Finding Light in the Darkness will take place at Manifest from February 16th 2012 through March
12th 2012. The artist reception on February 16th features some of Hawaii’s best emerging artists and local DJs with their great music. This exhibition of visual culture, language, and ideas are as
heartbreaking as they are hopeful. Depicted in each piece lies the darkness, hope, and fragility of someone’s light snuffed out from abuse, suppression, or rape, and the strength and courage it takes to light themselves up again. Representing the stages of the healing, these pieces show us a commentary on survival and one’s journey in selflighting the way to empowerment. (Artists Night Out Party on Thurs, Feb 16th at Manifest at 7pm-2am).
