Create your own custom designed clothes in this awesome workshop with super cool artist, Sierra Dew of artists collective 808 Urban. Participants will have a chance to create their own stencils or use our pre-made templates to create original artwork on clothing. So don’t throw away those jeans or old t-shirts! Bring them in so that we can add some art to it. Fun for all ages! If you don’t have a blank t-shirt, don’t worry, we’ll provide one for you for $10 per shirt.

Voice of the Circle is a workshop to explore matters of deep significance through the practice of Council. Learn the simple and beautiful tools of heartfelt communication for lovers, family, friends and more. Council is a time-honored means of authentic and heartfelt communication. This circular dialogue has been practiced throughout the ages. Its modern application can be found in many places where a deeper conversation is desired. From intimate relationships, to family gatherings, from classrooms to boardrooms, Council creates community. It offers its participants a safe and sage environment in which to open up and share thoughts and feelings. This extraordinary exercise in the art of listening holds the key to being heard.

Join Bonnie and Amber Tamblyn in a Council circle and share your story. We will explore the basic principles of listening and speaking from the heart, creating community, and re-connecting to the magic of the Voice of the Circle. Champion slam poet Natasha “T” Miller imparts her knowledge of taking written poetry and making it suitable and comfortable to perform on stage. Sometimes a poem well written might not transfer well to a “performance.” If you are ready to start polishing your stage skills, or even if the thought of
performing your poetry scares the living caca out of you, this is the workshop for you. However, performances at this workshop are not required. If you just want to learn how you can express yourself better verbally or through poetry, this lesson still applies. You’ll have a great time learning from one of the nation’s rising stars in the spoken word community.

The mind-body connection is key to body awareness and healing both physical and emotional trauma. “Yoga for Inner Strength” focuses on slow movement while engaging the breath mindfully to keep the focus “in” the body. The physical postures (asana) are grounding and well balanced to empower participants in feeling strong and centered as they rejoin the mind and body. Whether you have practiced yoga for decades or have just decided to try it out, this workshop can help restore balance to the mind, body, and breath.

The workshop enthusiastically welcomes all genders 18 and over. Some yoga mats and other props will be available for loan. Class limit is 20 students. All levels welcome.

Led by instructor and master zinemaker, Corby Plumb, students will see how fun and empowering it can be for anyone wanting to learn how to do simple layouts, get creative with art, write and publish articles, and other basics in zinemaking.

This is a skill building and conditioning class exploring movement within and beyond foundational Bboy/Bgirl movement. Recommended for novice Bgirls and those already experienced with Breaking basics. The music will be a variation of Breaks, Hip Hop, and Electronic styles of dance music to challenge your rhythm and feel for “the beat,” a crucial awareness for all dancers.

This is a non-competitive class. The purpose is to create an artful and femalepositive learning environment for ladies who do or want to “Represent” in their local hip hop scene.

Recommended gear: (Optional - Please bring) knee pads, beanie/hat/bandanna, track jacket or windbreaker, water and a heart of gold. All ages and persuasions welcome.
